ARCS Foundation is unique and uniquely positioned.
ARCS Foundation makes unrestricted awards to exceptional graduate-level researchers in STEM and medical research at seven Bay Area research institutions.
ARCS Northern California University Partners
Unlike some science philanthropy, ARCS NCC makes an impact by investing in scholars at the critical seed stage of their research, when “most science breakthroughs happen”, and empowering them with the flexibility to determine how to use their financial awards, “allowing them to pursue their ideas without being tied to specific projects.”
Since 1970, ARCS Foundation Northern California Chapter (NCC), with the help of its members and other individuals and support from corporations and foundations, has provided more than 3,100 awards totaling over $26.8 million.
The Northern California Chapter is one of 15 ARCS Foundation chapters nationwide. ARCS is the only woman-led, membership-based, volunteer-driven nonprofit 100% focused on science philanthropy, with 100% of each gift to the annual Scholar Award Fund going to the next academic year’s scholar cohort. Your gift at any level earns a place of distinction.
