Posted on Tuesday, January 5, 2021

In addition to researching the chemical composition of stars as a Master's candidate in Physics & Astronomy at San Francisco State University, Jessica Agnos is a mother of three and a founding member of Astronomers for Planet Earth, an international organization with over 600 members around the world fighting for climate change and climate justice. Together with several others, she has created a webinar series to help fellow astronomers increase their skill set around science communication and speaking about climate change. Visit https://astronomersforplanet.earth/ for more info.

Jessica is grateful to San Francisco State University for brilliant teachers and an accessible and supportive environment, and to ARCS Foundation for the financial support that is helping her realize her dream of being an astrophysicist.
