The Northern California Chapter held its Annual Membership Meeting on May 14 at the Presidio Golf and Concordia Club in San Francisco.
In addition to reporting on the events and accomplishments of the past year, we welcomed ten wonderful new members and installed our Board of Directors for the 2025-26 year. We also had the pleasure of hearing from Tommy Luong, an ARCS Scholar and Master’s candidate in Biomedical Science at San Francisco State University. He shared his research with us and left us with an impactful message: that one of the most powerful ways to influence the future of science is by encouraging more scientists to enter politics—running for elected office and using their expertise to inform policy, serve the public, and bring scientific thinking into the broader civic conversation.
Thank you to everyone who attended this inspiring event!
